Reiki- Types and Resources

Reiki is an energy healing practice, originally developed in Japan by Mikao Usui, back in the 1920’s. It is believed to channel and transfer universal energy in the form of qi or chi through the palms, either with a light touch or from a distance. Reiki is used to heal issues, reduce pain, balance anxiety and stress.

Today, there are over 20 different forms of Reiki practiced, developed from the original teachings. Different methods and symbols are used by the different forms. Some of the different forms practiced today are Usui Reiki, Tibetian Reiki, Karuna Reiki, Rainbow Reiki, Angelic Reiki and Kundalini Reiki. All forms usually have 3 or 4 levels of certifications and Attunements that are the transfer of Reiki energy from the master to the student .

If you would like to learn Reiki, here are some tips to choose a Reiki teacher:

– Do research on the teachers in your locality and online, if that is your thing.

– Get all the details and speak to the teacher directly to get information about what to expect and what kind of support will be provided during and after the classes.

– This goes without saying, the location, the timings and the reviews of students.

– Last but not least, follow your intuition about what feels right for you.
